Website localization

Websites are often the first point of contact with potential customers or users. For this reason, they need to be understandable, accessible, and available in the user’s language.

I have full knowledge of the technologies involved in website development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.), and this allows me to fully understand its localization needs. I’ve also worked with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress.

During the localization process, it’s important to test the actual version of the website once the translation has been applied, in order to make adjustments and further improve it. Visual assets, such as images, icons or screenshots, must also be localized, and the same goes for URL addresses and metadata.

It’s always important to maintain the intent of the original text, but at the same time, it must be made easy to understand for the target language user. I’ve worked with these principles in mind on the various websites I’ve localized, such as the Weblate website, itch.io, or other smaller sites like Hyvor Talk. You can explore these projects in detail in my projects portfolio.
